My first recollection of an interest in music was the night my parents gathered my brother and I for The Ed Sullivan Show. Debuting was a new group from England, The Beatles.  I remember sitting there in awe.

I'll never forget my father's comment when they finished their performance. "They'll never make it ." he said, but I knew he was wrong.

I was ten years old then and from that day forward I was constructing homemade guitars out of broom sticks, cigar boxes and rubberbands, making up my own songs and dreaming of one day making my mark in the music business.

I must have done something to convince my parents I was serious, for soon after, they bought me my first guitar, a Sears Silvertone.  Every waking moment I could, I practiced, sang, or performed for my parents, their friends and at parties.

I performed with my first band at the age of
twelve.  "The Lake Center All-Stars" invited
me to play at The Lake Center Marina in the
St. Charles area on the Mississippi.

I took a summer job at the age of sixteen
at Lake of the Ozarks' Lodge of the Four
Seasons, playing and singing for restaurant
patrons as they dined, performing James
Taylor, Simon & Garfunkle and other popular
                                                    artists' song
ME &SEARS SILVERTONE GUITAR
I spent many years playing in bands in Arizona, Missouri, Colorado and Texas and finally decided to try my hand as a professional songwriter, moving to Nashville in 1995.
I played with artists Kenny Chesney, Tanya Tucker, Buddy Jewell, Deborah Allen and Sherrie Austin as I waited for my songs to finally be recognized and recorded.

They say Nashville is "a ten year town" for a songwriter.
In my case, that held true.  Although I had some success during that ten year span, my #1 chart topper came exactly ten years later with
"Redneck Yacht Club", recorded by Craig Morgan

Soon after I celebrated another #1 on the Christian Music Charts with "I Get To" as recorded by
Blue County.

Other artists who've cut my songs include; Trick Pony,
Buddy Jewell and Blake Shelton, to name a few.

I am currently member of SESAC and continue to write and perform.
